Spooky Scene Using Picket Fence Studios

 Hello dear friends!

I hope that you're having a wonderful week. Today, I want to share some inspiration to stretch your crafting supplies. This might sound crazy, but I used a Christmas stamp to create a Halloween card for this project. Yup, you heard that correctly. It's so fun to find a different use for your holiday-themed stamps, and it makes it that much more worth it when you're able to stretch it to work with two separate holidays.

This card used the masking technique heavily. If you know anything about me, I love to mask and color. Creating a one-layered card can be challenging, but using the masking method makes it that much easier.

I used the Build a Gingerbread House stamp set to create a spooky house on my card front. Instead of using traditional Christmas colors, I opted for a darker palette to portray a creepy Halloween house. I used alcohol markers to color the scene as well as ink blending.

To add to the scene, I used the Slim Line Welcome to the Graveyard Blending Stencil and the A2 Claudron of Bats stencil. These stencils are excellent because there are so many different elements that you can use to build a Halloween scene. To give some of the images more dimension and texture, I applied a layer of Paper Velvet onto the stencil using my Mix Media Spatula.

I heat embossed onto black cardstock using white embossing powder, a sentiment fromthe Here For The Boo stamp set. And I added a black frame using the 5x7 Stitched Rectangle die.
To finish off the card, I wanted to add some embellishments. The Scaredy Cat Sequin mix is perfect for the scene I was building. The mix includes little black cats that I adhered to the card front and added white details on it to create more interest.

I hope you found some inspiration to mix and match the stamp sets that you already have to create something unexpected. Until next time!

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Picket Fence Studios September 2022 Release (5 Inspirational Cards!!!)

Hello there friends!

It is a lovely day today! I am sharing FIVE card inspirations using some new products from the Picket Fence Studios September release. I didn't stop at five because everything was so good! I had so many ideas in my head but haven't been able to finish them all just yet. If you haven't had time to check out the release, you can do so by clicking Picket Fence Studios-September 2022 Release.

This card was relatively easy to make. I love how subtle the Paper Glaze is in the background. It creates enough drama but doesn't overpower the entire card design. The delicate and beautiful flowers from the Seasonal Christmas Flowers stamp set. I also added die-cut vellum leaves using the More Ash Leaves dies. The sentiment is from the Swanky Christmas Sentiment set, and I love that coordinating dies are available for this set.

Another texture card, and oh, was it so fun to make! I don't own a lot of Paper Glaze, so I like to find ways to mix the colors I love to create new ones. I like that I was able to mix the beautiful Mistletoe color with Winter Snowball to create a light and soft color to use on the Christmas Tree Lot stencil. The cute image is from the An Animal Cracker Christmas Hello set. I also added a frame using a frame die from my stash.
Okay, you guys know I love the polar bear set from the last release. I had to create a card combining the two sets. I used the Scene Building: Brick Wall stamp as iceblocks and paired that with a stamp from the A Window Seat to The World set for the hardwood floors. This scene was super easy to create and fun to mix and match sets.

I don't make enough fall theme cards, and I thought the Lots of Gourd's stamp set was perfect for the occasion. I paired it up with the Fancy Autumn Sentiment and added texture in the background using Winter Rings stencil mixed was Paper Glaze.

Creating a dreamy backdrop to use behind the A2 Evergreen on Hill Die was fun to do. I used a combination of watercolors to make the scene and popped the Evergreen die-cut on top. I also adhered to sentiment from the Swanky Christmas Sentiment set.

Hello Card Using Ink Blot Shop

    Hello friends,

I want to share a card I created using Ink Blot Shop products.

This card was really fun to make. It was actually inspired by my love for the outdoors. Whenever I have the time, I love to go hiking and camping with my family.

To start off, I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock with inks from Catherine Pooler. I love using Catherine Poolers' inks because the ink pads are so vibrate and nice. I also stamped the sentiment onto masking paper and fussy cut the letters out before I placed them over the cardstock.

I created the scene using the Clouds & Waves stencil to build my cloudy skies. I used my Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes with Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean. I also used Distress Oxide ink in Vintage Photo to create the ground.

Then, going in with an alcohol-friendly ink pad, I stamped the images onto white cardstock. My current favorite cardstock is buttery smooth, making coloring the images so nice and lovely.

I adhered everything onto the card panel with foam squares and liquid adhesive and added highlights and details using a white gel pen. To finish the card front, I used a frame die from My Favorite Things and cut that out of black cardstock. I love using this frame die because its finishes up any card front very nicely.

And that's it! I hope you found some inspiration here, and have a wonderful day!

    Until next time,
